Located on the summit of Wank Mountain in the Bavarian Alps, this wooden playground offers families more than just incredible views. It is easily accessible by a ride on the Wankbahn cable car, which is a whole experience onto itself.
Parents love that you can make a day out of it and take the hike down back to Garmisch, but the show stopper is definitely the views at the top.
The playground area sits at over 1,700 meters, it also tends to be quieter and cooler than the valley during summer. It’s a peaceful, low-crowd alternative to busier tourist sites nearby.

What to do: Besides the playground, the mountain offers a good amount of trails great for all different ages, so local parents recommend to include a hike down from the top.
Budget: Although the playground is free to use, you will need to pay for the cable car ride up. One way tickets start at: 23 euros for adults to reach the top.
When to visit: We recommend visiting the playground in the warmer season. The trails and playground can’t be used in the winter, but the wank mountain turns into a
