3. S.A.G.E (Sustainable Agriculture And Energy Center), Oregon, USA

“This was a fantastic learning experience! Tons of hands-on, and all air-conditioned so it’s great for hot summer days. Our 6 kids ages 4-15 had a great time exploring and learning all about farming and agriculture. Free goodie bags if the kids finish the scavenger hunt. Great place to stop to break up a long drive.”

4. Clark Planetarium, Utah, USA

“This is a really cool planetarium, right downtown Salt Lake City. And it’s free. Lots of hands-on station and activities for different ages. My 4,5 y/o loved it, we went back to following day.”

“Very nice museum. There is the possibility to be interactive for very little kids while older ones can learn so much.
Every first Wednesday of the month it’s free in the afternoon.”

6. Science Work, Australia

“Great science museum and very hands-on for all ages, but probably geared a little more towards younger children than teenagers. The sports area is amazing for adults too! Don’t miss the daily historical sewage pumping station visit around 11:30 AM!”

7. Montshire Science Museum, Vermont USA.

“Great hands-on museum, tons of cool exhibits. Live insects, music area, under 5 area, electronic and even robotic workshop. In good weather, you can start a trail right from outside the museum with outdoor expos. They have sensory nights and provide amenities for sensory sensitive kiddos but no food.”

8. Observatorio Microbiano, Azores Islands, Portugal.

“awesome and really affordable little exhibit by one of the calderas.
They explain all about microorganisms, bacteria and viruses with a huge emphasis on extreme organisms that live in volcanic soil/water.
Our 5 yo loved the hands-on stations and managed to understand all the different microorganisms thanks to their explanations. Pretty impressive.
Great for a homeschool stop!”
