Important: This Privacy Policy is intended to be globally applicable. Depending on where you live, additional rights and notices may apply (see Sections 11–13). If any part conflicts with a law that applies to you, that law controls.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use the Website, the App, and related services, features, content, and activities we make available (collectively, the Services). For GDPR/UK GDPR purposes, GoWhee Technologies LLC is the data controller for personal data we collect directly from you via the Services.
If you access third‑party services through our Services (e.g., maps, sign‑in providers, app stores, ad networks), those providers are separate controllers for their processing. Their privacy notices govern their use of your information.
We collect information you provide to us, information we obtain automatically when you use the Services, and information from third parties. The categories may include:
A. Identifiers and account information. Name, display name, email address, password or authentication tokens, profile photo, age range, preferences, and settings.
B. Device and network information. IP address, device IDs, operating system, browser/app version, language, referrer/exit pages, crash data, diagnostics, and cookies or similar technologies.
C. Location information. Approximate location derived from IP and, if you enable it, precise geolocation from your device (foreground/background).
D. Usage information. Feature usage, clicks, pages/screens viewed, time stamps, and interactions with emails/notifications.
E. Content and community data. User‑generated content (e.g., reviews, photos, favorites), messages you send to us, survey responses, and support requests.
F. Transaction data. Subscription tier, purchase history, in‑app purchase receipts, payment status, currency, and tax data. Note: App store or payment processors collect your full payment details; we receive limited data necessary to fulfill your purchase and prevent fraud.
G. Marketing & communications data. Your marketing preferences and communication history.
H. Inferences. We may create internal inferences about features you might like based on usage.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (e.g., health, religion) via the Services. Please do not submit such data in profiles, reviews, or messages.
• Directly from you (account setup, forms, support, community features).
• Automatically via cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies.
• From third parties, such as social sign‑in providers, analytics, anti‑fraud vendors, and app stores.
We process personal data for these purposes and legal bases:
Provide and secure the Services (create/manage accounts, enable features, geolocation‑based content, prevent fraud, debug).
Personalize and improve (remember settings, recommend content, measure performance, research/analytics).
Communicate with you (service notices, changes to terms/policies, support).
Internal Marketing (newsletters, promotions, surveys). You can unsubscribe at any time.
Compliance and enforcement (respond to lawful requests, enforce terms, protect safety).
Transactions (process purchases/subscriptions, maintain records, tax)
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time through your device/app settings or by contacting us.
We use cookies on the Website and mobile SDKs in the App to:
• remember preferences and keep you logged in,
• perform analytics and diagnostics,
• provide and measure advertising where applicable.
Where required, we will display a consent banner and honor your choices. You can change cookie/advertising preferences in your browser/device settings. Some features may not work without these technologies.
We disclose information to:
Service providers/Processors. Hosting, customer support, analytics, security, communications, and payment/subscription processing.
Business partners and integrations. Map/geo providers, social sign‑in, and embedded services you choose to use.
Advertising/measurement partners. If we place ads or measure campaigns, we may disclose device and usage data. Where required, we do so only with your consent and provide opt‑out mechanisms.
Corporate transactions. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, sale, or transfer of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Legal and safety. To comply with law, protect rights and safety, and detect/prevent fraud or security issues.
We do not sell your personal information for money. For U.S. state privacy laws, certain disclosures for cross‑context behavioral advertising may be deemed a “sale” or “sharing”; see Section 12 for opt‑out rights.
We are a U.S. company. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). Contact us for details.
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, including to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We apply criteria such as the nature of the data, the purpose of processing, and applicable limitation periods. When no longer needed, we delete or de‑identify information.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and logging. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from:
• under 13 (United States/COPPA), and
• under 16 (EEA/UK), unless a parent/guardian provides verifiable consent as required by law.
If you believe a child provided data, contact us so we can take appropriate steps, including deletion where applicable.
You may have the right to request: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and to object to processing (including profiling) based on legitimate interests and direct marketing. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise rights, email maud@gowhee.com. You may lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Depending on your state, you may have rights to: know/access, delete, correct, opt out of targeted advertising, opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and opt out of profiling for significant decisions. To exercise rights or send an opt‑out request (including via Global Privacy Control signals where supported), contact support@gowhee.com. We will verify your request as required and respond within statutory timeframes. Authorized agents may act on your behalf subject to verification.
California notices. We provide the categories of collected information, purposes, and disclosures in Sections 2, 4, and 6. We do not collect “sensitive” personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in each message or by contacting us. We may still send transactional or service messages (e.g., receipts, policy updates).
We do not respond to legacy browser Do‑Not‑Track signals. Where required by law, we honor valid Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for opt‑out of sale/sharing/targeted advertising on the Website.
The Services may contain links to third‑party websites, apps, or services. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their notices before providing personal information.
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above indicates when it was last updated. Material changes will be notified via the Services or by email where appropriate.
